Bronze Junkie

I started my business in 2025 with a passionate goal to provide the best sunless tanning experience with proper education and by using the most nourishing products for ultimate skin hydration. Brianna’s Spray Tan Prep + Aftercare Guide If you want a smooth, even, long-lasting tan… you gotta help me help you. These steps matter. A lot. BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT (AKA: Setting Your Skin Up for Success) 1. Moisturize nightly for 3–5 days before your tan (but NOT day of) Dry skin = short tan life. Hydrated skin = chef’s kiss results. 2. No retinol or acids for 5–7 days (face AND body) If it sounds like it exfoliates, resurfaces, or “renews”… stop it. 3. Skip body treatments 3–5 days before No scrubs, peels, facials, lasers, or “I just wanted to feel cute.” Your skin needs to be calm, not traumatized. 4. No collagen or shimmer lotions the week before Those fancy firming lotions? Full of silicone. Silicone blocks spray tan. 5. If you have sunburn, eczema, psoriasis, or an active breakout — we reschedule I only tan healthy skin. Not spicy skin. 6. Schedule ALL beauty services 24–48 hours before your spray tan Waxing, facials, massages, brows — do them first. Spray tan comes last. 7. No self tanner or gradual tanner beforehand Come fresh. 24–48 HOURS BEFORE 8. Exfoliate 24–48 hours before your appointment Use a mitt or gentle scrub. Two days of light exfoliation. We’re preserving skin while removing dead cells. Not sanding a deck. 9. Spend extra time on elbows, knees, ankles, feet, and wrists These dry spots love to grab color. Give them attention or they’ll embarrass you. 10. Shave or wax at least 24 hours before (never same day) Fresh pores act like tiny cups and collect solution. 11. Skip conditioning shave creams Some leave invisible residue that blocks absorption. Regular body wash only. 12. Avoid bar soap the day before + day of Bar soap leaves a film on your skin. That film blocks tan. 13. No hot showers the night before Lukewarm only. Hot water dries skin and opens pores. DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT 14. Shower that morning (no products afterward) Mild soap if needed. 15. Come product-free No lotion, deodorant, makeup, sunscreen, perfume. I need naked skin. 16. Wear loose clothing Oversized tee, flowy pants or dress, flip flops. 17. Book your tan 2–3 days before events Not the day before weddings, trips, or hot girl weekends. You need time to rinse bronzer and fully develop. Trust the process. AFTER YOUR TAN (THIS IS WHERE PEOPLE MESS UP) 18. No tight clothing after No bras, leggings, tight socks, shapewear. Let your tan breathe. 19. Don’t sit on leather or vinyl Car seats, restaurant booths — throw a towel down. 20. Follow your rinse time EXACTLY Not sooner. Not later. This controls depth of color. 21. Avoid workouts and heavy sweating the next day Sweat = salt. Take a rest day. Your tan deserves it. 22. Use these for longest wear: ✔ Aveeno ✔ Hempz ✔ Shea Moisture They hydrate without oils or silicone. Your tan will last longer and fade prettier. BRI TIP: Your tan doesn’t fade…your skin sheds. Moisturize daily. Take warm (not hot) showers. Pat dry. Treat your tan like the investment it is. The Tan will take up to 24 hours to fully develop post-rinse. Please wait until the next day to moisturize after your tan is fully developed. Moisturize daily with a lotion that doesn’t contain alcohol, mineral oils, and sulfates as this can start to dry out your skin and strip your tan. To preserve your tan avoid swimming, long hot showers/baths, saunas, and excessive sweating. **Don’t exfoliate until your tan is at the end of its life and ready to come off. Your old spray tan must be off before a new spray tan is applied.**
